Kitchi Island Outposts are located on the east side of Lake Winnipeg.
We fly from Matheson Island, which is a 2-1/2 hour drive north of Winnipeg in Manitoba, Canada.
If you are traveling from the United States, the best route is to make your way to I-29 and follow it north to the border crossing at Emerson, just north of Pembina in North Dakota. Once clear of the border, follow Hwy #75 north to Winnipeg.
Take the Perimeter Hwy around Winnipeg to the west, Hwy #101. Follow the Perimeter Hwy to the exit to Gimli, Hwy #8. Follow Hwy #8 north past Gimli and Riverton and turn left on Hwy #234 about 10 miles past Riverton. Follow Hwy #234 for 40 miles to Matheson Island, MB.
